The Sprays of Summer
Look closely at this picture—at first glance, what do these people seem to need?
You get the point, Summer is coming and with it all the joys and tribulations
of spending 18-hours-a-day out of doors. This brings the glaring sun, the biting
insects, the marauding bears, the hungry relatives. How much more difficult would
Summer fun be without aerosol products to lighten the load and keep us safe?
As my mother used to remind us kids whenever we wanted some labor saving
device—like a riding tree-leaf vacuum or popcorn popper shaped like Snoopy—“We
didn’t have that during the Depression”—and she was right! We didn’t have all of
these helpful sprays in the first half of the 20thC., but here and now in the first
half of the 21stC., a spray for whatever you may need is right at your fingertips.
Think of all the outdoor DIY projects, car detailing, campfire cooking and tent
waterproofing you can easily manage now. You can have a deep tan and beach hair
without ever leaving your home office thanks to aerosol products. You can keep the
flies off of your horse and de-funk the dog before lunchtime. Would anyone—ever—
want to go back to doing it all the hard way?
In the spirit of Summer, we bring readers our annual Sun Care issue, with the
latest spray products, packaging, formulations and ingredients for outdoor fun and
protection. We hope you enjoy this issue…
