The patented specialty formula created for SunGuard has UV
inhibitors for outdoor décor protection against color fading,
peeling and cracking caused by the harmful sun’s rays.
SunGuard extends the
life of products made
from polyresins, wood,
cement, metal, plastic,
fiberglass, composite,
tile, wicker, ceramic,
acrylic, stone, polyester
and fabric with just one
coat. The protectant
sealant spray seals and
dries clear to the touch
in 15 minutes or less
and should be applied
immediately upon
purchase of outdoor
décor—such as garden statues, pots and planters, fountains,
birdbaths and feeders, wood signs, stepping stones,
wreaths, metal art, patio furniture and umbrellas, inflatable
pool toys, plastic fencing, camping gear, beach chairs and
wind chimes—to help prevent sun damage. The patented UV
formula is also suitable for outdoor fabrics such as auto and
boat covers, curtains, flags, door mats, grill covers, awnings,
spinners, sports equipment, tarps, tents and hammocks.

conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control &
Prevention indicated that Black consumers are more likely
to have lower survival rates when they are diagnosed. A
combination of educational efforts and the addition of skin
care benefits (e.g. moisturizing) in sun protection products
may motivate Black adults to be more engaged in the sun
care space.
Finally, Mintel noted that Generation Z’s (younger adults
aged 18–24) engagement in the skin protection category
is more limited compared to the average. However, their
engagement in facial skin care routines is growing, suggesting
that there are ways for skin protection brands to boost
engagement among this influential consumer group.
Online sources and social media will continue to play a
bigger role in how consumers interact with the Sun Care
category; skin protection brands may have an opportunity
on social media, particularly TikTok, to promote sunscreens
with skin care benefits to the growing number of TikTok
“skinfluencers.” Spray
