Avon had 28,300 employees outside its sold-off North American operations at the end of December 2015. The company said it expects to save $50 million this year from payroll cuts and the closure of open positions. Avon will keep facilities in Suffern and Rye, NY and remain incorporated in New York. Croda Brazil, part of Croda International Plc, announced the opening of a new distribution centre near Campinas, Brazil. At a cost of nearly $4 million, the investment is part of a five year plan to meet the growing demands of its customers, both in Brazil and across Latin America. Lonza announced the grand opening of its Global Centre of Hair Care Technology in Blackley, near Manchester, UK. Its proximity to a number of key global and regional hair care customers and its ease of access, makes it a suitable location for the center. It will serve as the hub from which Lonza Consumer Care expands its presence in the hair care market. Revlon, Inc. announced that its Board of Directors elected Fabian Garcia as Revlon’s President and CEO, effective Apr. 15. Garcia was also appointed to serve as a member of Revlon’s Board of Directors, as well as the Board of Revlon’s wholly owned operating subsidiary, Revlon Consumer Products Corporation (RCPC). John Abplanalp, former CEO and President of Precision Valve Corp., announced the establishment of Tight Lines Advisors, a consultancy with values-driven operational processes for business efficiency, performance and financial growth. The industry sectors the firm serves include plastics, injection molding, metal forming, packaging, assembly and consumer products. Johnson & Johnson appointed Chester Twigg to the position of Chief Customer Officer. In this role, he will be a member of the Consumer Group Operating Committee and will report to Jorge Mesquita, Worldwide Chairman of Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies.He joins J&J from Procter & Gamble. Precision Global, global manufacturer of valves, actuators and other dispensing solutions, announced Victor Martinez was appointed General Manager of Precision Mexico and Precision Venezuela. Martinez brings plastic processing and packaging experience and will report directly to Eugenio Bergoglio, Regional Manager of Precision Global’s Latin America operations.
