ing themselves and the bears people come to
see by carrying bear spray and learning how to
use it.
Bear spray is a non-lethal deterrent designed
to stop aggressive behavior in bears. Its use
can reduce human injuries and the number
of bears killed by people in self-defense. Bear
spray uses a fine cloud of Capsicum derivatives
to temporarily reduce a bear’s ability to
breathe, see and smell, giving the user time to
leave the area.
Guard Alaska bear
repellent spray was intensively
tested for six years
in the Alaskan wild, and,
according to the company,
the only bear repellent
registered with the U.S.
Environmental Protection
Agency as a repellent effective
against all bears. Its long
spray range, fogger delivery
system sprays 15–20′, quickly
engulfing an attacking bear
for maximum effectiveness. It
releases its full 9oz. of protection
in nine seconds or may be
fired in bursts. It has a 1.34%
total capsaicinoid formula,
UltraMag shotgun-size canister
and EZ Access Firemaster
Actuator. It does not contain flammable or ozonedepleting
substances.
Tornado Bear Repellent offers up to 9.2 seconds
of continuous bear spray and is suitable for
use with multiple bears. The 9oz. formula sprays
up to 20′ in a fog cloud pattern and can penetrate
wet fur.
Counter Assault Bushwacker Bear Spray helps humans protect
themselves when hiking or hunting in bear country. The entire
8.1oz. canister empties in approximately 5.5 seconds and has a 25′
range. The formula is 2% Capsaicin.
Anglers assistance
Whether fishing for food, for fun or for relaxation, it has never
been easier to find convenient, spray-on bait and lure enhancers
formulated for all types of fish, water and conditions. Baitmate
Fish Attractant from Wisconsin Pharmacal Co. recently added
Baitmate Ultra Bass and Baitmate Ultra Crawfish to its line-up.
Natural fish oils create a scent bass and crawfish can’t resist. The
products can be used on live bait, hard lures and artificial soft
baits. Amino acids enhance the fishing scent. The can is from

Stinky Stuff is a complex
compound fishing bait
additive made in the UK. It
is designed to stimulate all
species of coarse fish (freshwater
fish distinguished
from game fish) to feed. The
formulation has an adhesion
property that sticks
to the surface it is sprayed
onto, staying on bait and
slowly releasing its attractant
when in the water. The
research and development
to make the product aquatically safe has also ensured the Stinky
Stuff formulation is polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-friendly and, therefore,
Stinky Stuff can be sprayed onto any hook bait, feeder bait
or terminal tackle. The product comes in Original, Original (Sea),
Black Jack, Bubblegum, Vanilla Peanut & Cream, Krill Protein
Boost, Crayfish and Peeler Crab (Sea).
On the slopes, the links or the field
It’s no secret that the first aerosol product ever produced was a
sprayable liquid ski wax, invented by Norwegian Eric Rotheim in
1923. Ninety-five years later, aerosol ski wax has come a long way.
Swix, a Norwegian company producing ski wax, ski poles and
sportswear, offers Swix Liquid fastening spray (70mL/2.5oz.) in
three varieties: Blue, Violet and Red. Swix Violet Grip is a liquid
ski wax for cold temperatures just below freezing, suitable for new
and fine-grained snow conditions (0°C to -3°C 32°F to 27°F).
Swix Blue Grip liquid grip wax was formulated for cold, new
and fine grained snow conditions (-2°C to -15°C 28°F to 5°F).
