An affiliate of Peak Rock, a middle-market private equity firm,
announced the sale of Precision Global to an affiliate of ONCAP,
the middle-market private equity platform of Onex Corp. Founded
in 1949, Precision’s dispensing solutions include more than 12,000
SKUs, which are sold into end markets such as personal care, household,
food & beverage, industrial and pharmaceutical. Its products
include aerosol valves, actuators, pumps, caps and related aerosol
accessories, custom closures and other specialty dispensing solutions.
“Precision serves a growing market with high-quality, reliable and
innovative products that are critical to its customers and end users,”
said Ryan Mashinter, a Managing Director with ONCAP. “We are
excited to partner with Precision’s management team to accelerate the
company’s growth both organically and through acquisitions for years
to come.”

Headquartered in Greenville, SC, Precision employs more than
1,500 people across 18 facilities in 15 countries and six continents.
L’Oréal announced the intent to acquire Société des Thermes de La
Roche-Posay for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 1921, Société des
Thermes de La Roche-Posay is a European thermal station devoted
to treating dermatological diseases and markets products including
Lipikar for dry skin, Anthélios for photoprotection, Effaclar for acne,
Tolériane for sensitive skin and Cicaplast
for skin repair. In 2017, the company generated
sales of €3.6 million ($4.2 million).
In other news, L’Oréal plans to acquire
Hanover, Germany-based Logocos Naturkosmetik AG, a beauty company
with natural cosmetics brands Logona and Sante. The 40-year-old
company experienced net sales of €59 million ($68.6 million) in Germany
and Europe in 2017. L’Oréal expects to grow Logocos Naturkosmetik’s
brands internationally. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Procter & Gamble has acquired First Aid Beauty (FAB), an
independent skin care company with products for sensitive skin and
skin conditions such as eczema, redness and dryness, which are sold
at specialty retailers such as Sephora, Ulta Beauty and QVC. Terms
of the deal were not revealed. FAB will operate as a wholly-owned
subsidiary. FAB founder Lilli Gordon will remain CEO and will retain
her current team.
This fall, makeup artist Fred Farrugia will
team up with Aptar Beauty + Home to
develop new concepts in makeup packaging
under the “Aptar Beauty + Home x Fred Farrugia”
line. The aim of the new line is to give
brands in whatever stage of development,
from small indies to the big multinational brands, solutions from
dispensing systems to the development of complete makeup lines,
according to Aptar.
