DSM, a supplier of ingredients and innovative solutions for
beauty care products, and Nanjing Cosmos Chemical Co., Ltd, a
technology-based manufacturer and distributor in the field of fine
and specialty chemicals, announced a new strategic partnership.
The joint venture will combine DSM’s knowledge of sun and skin
care science with Cosmos’s manufacturing capabilities to deliver
filters, PARSOL Max and PARSOL Shield.
Cortec Corp., a producer of corrosion inhibitor additives and
EMCO Chemical Distributors, a North American distributor of
specialty chemicals, have signed an exclusive agreement for distribution
of Cortec’s corrosion inhibitor additives. EMCO will distribute
Cortec’s additives throughout the Midwest and East Coast.
Croda International Plc has acquired Enza Biotech AB, a
research enterprise established as a spin-out company from Lund
University in Sweden. Croda will gain the expertise of Enza
co-founders Maria Andersson and Stefan Ulvenlund, and their
team, as they become full time employees.
Croda has also invested in Cutitronics, which has developed a
novel digital solution to meet the demands of the personal care
market.
Lubrizol Corp. has selected Essential Ingredients as a distributor
for its Personal Care & Home Care products throughout the U.S.

Azelis has agreed to fully acquire Chemcolour, a provider of
specialty chemicals and food ingredients in Australia and New

All required regulatory approvals and clearances have gone
through, allowing for the closing of the merger agreement
between DuPont and The Dow Chemical Co. The closing took
place on Aug. 31.
Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. has received a binding offer
from filler Fareva for a 10-year global agreement to allow for the
manufacture and supply of its own beauty brands and private
label products, including products for sale in the U.S. Under
the terms of the offer, Fareva will take ownership of BCM,
Walgreens Boots Alliance’s contract manufacturing business,
which operates factories in the UK, France and Germany. The
proposed agreement, which is subject to Works Council consultation
and regulatory approval, is expected to be completed by
the end of 2017.
Swander Pace Capital has sold Lavo Inc., manufacturer of
household cleaners, laundry detergent, fabric softeners and
bleach in Canada, to KIK Custom Products Inc.
