Brazilian beauty company Natura has acquired
The Body Shop from L’Oréal. Financial
details were not disclosed and regulatory
approval is needed to close the deal, possibly
by the end of the year. Founded by Dame
Anita Roddick, the 40 year-old Body Shop
had been owned by L’Oréal since 2006.
Specialty chemicals firm Azelis has been appointed as exclusive
distributor by Tagra Biotechnologies to offer its range of RND
microencapsulated actives and pigments in China for all personal
care applications. The new partnership builds on agreements
between the two companies in Europe, Canada, Australia and New
Zealand.
IMCD N.V. has acquired the Canadian and U.S. specialty chemicals
and ingredients distributor L.V. Lomas. The closing of the
transaction, subject to customary regulatory review, was expected
at the end of August.
Crescita Therapeutics’ subsidiary, Intega Skin Sciences, has
acquired the Alyria skincare line from Sanofi Consumer Health
Inc. for $1.7 million. SPRAY
