CSPA awarded Paul Siracusa, Ph.D., the Charles E.
Allderdice Jr. Memorial Award for his contributions
to the household and commercial products
industry. Siracusa is the former Executive VP, Global
Research & Development, Church & Dwight, and
past CSPA Chair. He was influential in the creation
of CSPA’s Product Care program, and as Chair, grew
the program’s reach throughout the organization. He
led CSPA’s Board of Directors in 2014–2015 and has
worked to expand the association’s effectiveness in the
household and commercial products industry. The
Allderdice award is named after a former president of
CSPA, Charles E. Allderdice Jr. For 35 years, members
have honored an individual who has demonstrated
exemplary commitment and service to the industry and

Helen Walter-Terrinoni of Chemours presented Updates on
HFCs. Regarding the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP), the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit stated
the EPA could not ask companies to stop using hydrofluorocarbons
(HFCs) under Section 612 of the Clean Air Act after
they had converted from ozone-depleting substances. The Court
maintained that EPA was neither arbitrary nor capricious in
The Alliance for Consumer Education (ACE),
in addition to its Inhalant Abuse Prevention,
Disease Prevention and Poison Prevention /
Product Management programs, launched a
product recycling initiative at the CSPA Annual
Meeting. ACE debuted fun new recycling
stickers that encourage the recycling of spray
products, whether aerosol, pump or trigger.
Meeting attendees were encouraged to visit
the ACE Lounge, sponsored by the Stepan Co. and CSPA, to meet with Sara
Stickler, VP, Education & Research, ACE and Research & Regulatory Management
Council (RRMC) and Elizabeth Bailey, ACE Program Development
