According to HBM, the key component
of Aerofil’s growth and customer retention
strategy is the ability to apply Lean manufacturing
practices with an overarching philosophy
of providing service. With daily tech-enabled
communication from its customers’ distribution
centers, Aerofil schedules its production
lines based on end-user consumption and current
demand. Customers benefit from reduced
inventory, shortened lead times and substantial
cost savings, said HBM.
Following the acquisition, Bob Dunaway
remained as CEO of Aerofil. Pat Bergin,
former President of Aerofil, has moved to a
Lean consultant position with HBM. Daniel
Wright, former HBM VP, Corporate Development,
was named President & COO effective
at the close. Pam Slaten has assumed the role
as VP of Sourcing. In total, Aerofil employs
nearly 500 people in its Sullivan plant.
According to Wright, HBM found Aerofil’s execution and
commitment to lean practices as a significant differentiator to
most manufacturing facilities.
