The New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) and
The Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers & Distributors
(ICMAD) association announced a new partnership for NYSCC’s
Suppliers’ Day 2018 on May 15-16, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention
Center in New York, NY. The day after the show ends, ICMAD
will host its annual FDA Cosmetics Regulations Workshop
on May 17 at the Javits Center. The workshop provides professionals
in the cosmetic and personal care industry with necessary
regulatory and safety updates. Government representatives,
industry experts and ICMAD officials will inform attendees about
sector updates, current issues and ICMAD activities.

Swadlincote, UK aerosol business Reabrook is aiming for global
expansion after landing a £5.5million (($7.2 million) invoice
finance facility from HSBC. This will allow Reabrook to focus
on growing its Arrow Solutions brand in China, which provides
degreasing products to manufacturers and the rail, transport and
oil and gas industry. This expansion follows the set-up of a new
company, Arrow Shanghai Trading Company Limited in 2016,
supported by HSBC China.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. announced that the U.S.
Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has approved QVAR Redi-
Haler (beclomethasone dipropionate HFA) inhalation aerosol, a
breath-actuated inhaler for the maintenance treatment of asthma

as a prophylactic therapy in patients four years of age and older.
The product is expected to become commercially available in both
40mcg and 80mcg strengths to patients by prescription during the
first quarter of 2018.
Givaudan Active Beauty opened its new Skin Expertise Technical
Center in Pomacle, France. According to the company, the
100-square-meter site is dedicated to speed up the evaluation of
the pipeline of ingredients produced with blue and white biotechnologies,
green technology and microbiome research.

that Chris Nyarady has
been promoted to VP
of Sales. Inclusive in
his 18 years of experience
in the packaging
industry, Chris has been
a Montebello team member for over eight years.
Additionally, Montebello hired Dennis Smith as Regional
Sales Manager. Smith has over 35 years of experience in aerosol
valves, cans and filling. He is the current President of the Eastern
Aerosol Association.
Coty Inc. announced that Daniel Ramos,
former Chief Science Officer and EVP
R&D at Revlon, Inc., has been appointed
Chief Scientific Officer and EVP R&D. He
will report directly to Camillo Pane, Coty’s
CEO, and will be a member of the Coty
Executive Committee. Ramos began his
R&D career at Procter&Gamble, first in
Venezuela and then later in the U.S. and Japan,
spending 11 years in increasingly senior roles, before joining
RB plc where he was VP R&D Health Care and member of the
R&D global leadership team.
Sally Beauty Holdings has appointed Carrie McDermott its President.
McDermott brings more than 31 years of retail leadership
experience to the post. Prior to joining Sally, she served nine years
at DSW Inc. in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as
COO. Previously, she was DSW’s Executive VP of Sales & Operations.
She also held leadership roles with retailers, including
Cooper’s, Inc., The Gap, Inc. and Barnes & Noble, Inc..
Belle Aire promoted Jeremy David to the position of Managing
Director of Innovation &Technology. He will lead and
oversee the efforts of all new and existing technology platforms.
Don Conover, Jr. has been promoted to VP of Perfumery and
Research & Development. Christopher Kelly was promoted to
Account Executive. He began his career at Belle Aire over seven
years ago, working both in the sample and perfumery labs. Brett
Opitz was promoted to Account Executive, servicing Belle Aire’s
customers in the Midwest.
Additionally, Belle Aire promoted Jerry Bellek to Chief
Technical Officer to help lead the advancement of emerging
technology platforms and the company’s Total Malodor Management.
Jodi Vintartas has been promoted to CFO of Belle Aire
Creations, having previously been employed in the management
of human resources, finance and the accounting functions at
Belle Aire.
Firmenich has appointed Dr. Bérangère Magarinos-Ruchat as
Global Head of Sustainability. Magarinos-Ruchat was most
recently VP Sustainability Partnerships, a position that she
held since 2010. She has established numerous strategic collaborations
for Firmenich to address key societal challenges
such as Hygiene & Sanitation, Health & Nutrition and
Biodiversity.

Majesty Valve launched a new Bag-on-Valve assembly line. It is fully
automated and provides quality control through infrared camera
inspection, in-line pressure test and vacuum test. Additionally, the
assembly offers a hygienic production environment.
