South Africa Surges Ahead 7% aerosol fillings increase led by Personal Care and Household Products Seventeen million more aerosol cans were filled in South Africa in 2013 over 2012, according to the Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association of South Africa (AMA), an increase of 7%. The bulk of the growth occurred in the Personal Care category, up 8.1 million (6.3%), and Household Products, up 9.2 million (9.8%). There were 261.5 million total aerosol fillings in the country in 2013; Paint was the only product category to see a decrease, down 16.2% to eight million units filled. 8.9 million Car Care & Industrial Products were filled, reflecting a 7.2% jump. Thirty-four million units were imported, a marginal increase over the 32.1 million imported in 2012 to South Africa, where domestic fillings have more than doubled since 1996.
