The Scents of Summer
As summer sets in, fragrance houses have been busy creating
memorable limited edition scent collections for the season
as well as unisex creations for all year round.
Following the popular Daisy fragrance, Marc Jacobs launched
four Daisy Daze flanker eau de toilettes (EDTs) for spring with
fruity top notes: Daisy Love Daze, Daisy Eau So Fresh Daze, Daisy
Dream Daze and Daisy Daze. They were created by Firmenich
master perfumer Alberto Morillas.
Daisy Love Daze 50mL EDT spray opens with
a top note of apricot, a floral heart of osmanthus
and a warm, feminine base of golden amber. Daisy
Eau So Fresh Daze 75mL EDT spray features bright
and luscious white peach and orchard blossoms,
mingling with peach skin to create a comforting
freshness, according to the company. Longan berries
are blended with musks in the 50mL Daisy Dream
Daze, which also features the dreamy and floral
heart note of silky wisteria. With bright bursts of
mandarin and sweet Mirabelle and creamy musks,
Daisy Daze creates a crisp and sumptuous scent. It is
available as a 50mL EDT spray.

Serge Lutens’ Collection
Noire has re-launched three
favorites as limited edition
fragrances. La fille de Berlin
is representative of a city that
is strong-willed and explosive,
with top notes of rose and
geranium. It has a middle note
of plamarosa and base notes
of patchouli, moss and honey.
Fleurs d’oranger is inspired by
Luten’s arrival in Morocco in
1968, the shock to the senses
of his first encounter with
its amazing aromas and his
memory of women shaking
the white flowers off of orange
blossom trees. The scent is
comprised of orange blossom,
jasmine, tuberose and white
rose on a warm base of floral
musk, hibiscus and cumin.

during a walk through the souks of Marrakech. The scent features
coriander, sandalwood, bay leaf, patchouli, myrrh, amber, oregano,
myrtle benzoin and vanilla. Each 50mL perfume is available as a
spray or with a topper.
One for all
Other fragrance marketers hope to appeal to a broader range of
consumers by launching unisex products.
The new Nakuna Helsinki fragrance line,
meaning “naked” in Finnish, debuted in
Finland in 2020 by entrepreneurs Anu
Igoni and Jaakko Veijola. The brand’s
five Nordic-inspired fragrances are the
result of collaboration with Givaudan
perfumers Yann Vassnier, Nadège Legarlantezec,
Fernandez Jorge and Olivier
Pescheux. The scents are marketed as
mostly unisex. The line’s bottles and
pumps are supplied by Coverpla; the caps
are made by Segede.
The Nakuna Helsinki
line includes Nakuna Iho,
an animalic, cashmere
accord; Nakuna Avanto, a
scent with marine accords
and crisp florals; Nakuna
Mittumaari (Finnish
summer celebration), a
powdery floral built around
bergamot, rose and violet
that is targeted to women;
Nakuna Ralli (adventure),
a blend of tangy rose, exotic
oud wood and sweet amber
and Nakuna Musta (black),
a mixture of two opposites—
cooling black incense
and tar combined with
spicy oriental warmth. They
are sold in separate 50mL
bottles or as a sample set
with 2mL sprays. Spray
