Acquisition... Renew Financial acquires AFC First Financial Corp. Renew Financial announced it acquired Pennsylvania-based AFC First Financial Corporation, one of the nation’s premier lenders specializing in the energy efficiency home improvement market. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This acquisition builds on the Warehouse for Energy Efficiency Loans (WHEEL) program, a public-private partnership launched last year that provides a national financing platform to bring low-cost, large-scale capital to government and utility-sponsored residential energy efficiency loan programs. Modine launches Innovation Tour Trailer HVAC manufacturer Modine is celebrating its 100th anniversary and has developed a 53 foot long exhibit trailer learning-labon wheels that made its debut at this year’s AHR Expo. After the show, the trailer began a 10,000-mile, cross-country tour of North America—branded The Innovation Tour. The Innovation Tour is a traveling road show that will take the manufacturer’s technology to the front doorsteps of thousands of allied trade professionals— architects, engineers and design/build contractors—who might otherwise miss the chance to see the gear in action and to speak with Modine pros. The trailer unfolds into three stages and a slide-out classroom and includes an Atherion™ packaged rooftop ventilation system, an operating school HVAC unit, an interactive Modine Controls System module, the newly AHRIcertified geothermal systems and finally, Effinty™ and Hot Dawg™ unit heaters. New Products... Bosch Stainless steel boilers Bosch Thermotechnology announced a range of new sizes for its sealed combustion high efficiency stainless steel boiler line with condensing technology. The Buderus SSB Series now consists of eight models in four different chassis sizes with inputs ranging from 85MBH to 1024MBH. These are now available for use in small studio units all the way up to commercial buildings. With built-in manifolds and controls, Buderus SSB commercial boilers can be used for cascade applications with easy installation and integration with Building Management Systems (BMS). Bosch introduced the new SSB Series mid-size range 255, 399 and 512 MBH models in fall 2015, and in mid-2016 will introduce 85, 120, 160 MBH residential models, followed by 819 and 1024 MBH commercial sizes.
