Effective Feb. 1,
2021, Barbara
Lavernos will
step up to the
new position
of President,
Research,
Innovation &
Technologies at
L’Oréal. This
will follow the retirement of 34-year company veteran Laurent Attal,
Executive VP of Research & Innovation. Lavernos currently serves
as Executive VP, Chief Technologies & Operations Officer and as a
Member of the Executive Committee. She joined L’Oréal in 1991.
Antoine Vanlaeys, current Operations Director for the Asia-Pacific
Zone, will assume Lavernos’ former role as COO. Vanlaeys will also
join LOréal’s Executive Committee. He joined the company in 2002.
Brenda Chamulak has joined Tekni-Plex as
President of the newly created Packaging Products
division, which combines the Action Technology,
Tekni-Films, Tri-Seal, Flexible Healthcare Packaging
and Dolco Packaging businesses. Chamulak has
spent nearly 30 years in the industry, most recently
as CEO, Senior VP & President of Jabil Packaging
Solutions, and prior, with the Aptar Group.
Renee Schouten, International
Director of Marketing at INX, has been appointed
President of the International Metal Decorating
& Packaging Association (IMDPA). This two-year
role follows her appointment as VP. Schouten has
held numerous roles for the association, including
Member of the Board of Directors, Executive
Board Member, VP, Secretary/ Treasurer, and
Chairperson of both the Annual Conference Committee
and the Website Committee. John Clark of
Schouten
Heraeus was named IMDPA’s VP and Tim Duca of Ardagh Corp.
was appointed Secretary/ Treasurer.
Effective Jan. 1, Kao Corp.’s Board of Directors will appoint President
& CEO Michitaka Sawada as Director & Chair. Yoshihiro
Hasebe, who is Senior Managing Executive Officer, will assume the
role of President & CEO. Hasebe will also continue to act as a Representative
Director of the Board.
Qosmedix has tapped Betti Ann Catino as Business
Development Manager. Catino has more than
20 years of experience and most recently served as
Senior Sales Account Executive at Kirker Enterprises.
She has also previously served with Roberts
Beauty and World Wide Packaging.
The American Chemistry Council (ACC) has
appointed Joshua Baca as VP, Plastics. He replaces
Steve Russell, who is retiring. Baca hails from the American Beverage
Association (ABA) where he served as Senior VP, Public Affairs.
Interim CEO Stephen Doktycz has been tapped to serve as Vantage
Specialties, Inc.’s new CEO. Doktycz previously hailed from
companies such as H.I.G. Capital, LyondellBasell
and The Dow Chemical Co. Doktycz will also be a
Member of Vantage’s Board of Directors.
Sharon del Valle has been appointed
GM of KOSÉ America,
with a particular emphasis on
the Decorté skin care line. She
hails from Revlon where she
oversaw U.S. Marketing for the
Elizabeth Arden brand. She has also worked for
The Estée Lauder Cos., Chanel, Naturopathica
and Kraft General Foods.
Benoit Fouilland
has joined
Firmenich as
CFO, effective
Sept. 1. He will
also serve as
Secretary of the
Board of Director’s
Finance,
Audit & Risk
Committee. Fouilland hails from Criteo S.A., where he served as
CFO, and prior, British Telecom, Business Objects and SAP. He
replaces Eric Nicolas, who was appointed Firmenich’s COO and
remains a member of the Executive Committee.
Firmenich has also appointed Boet Brinkgreve as President of
Ingredients and as a Member of the Executive Committee. Jean-
Philippe Lebudel was tapped to serve as Chief Supply Chain Officer,
filling Brinkgreve’s former post. Lebudel previously served as Senior
VP, Corporate Strategy and M&A. Gianluca Colombo joined
Firmenich as Chief Procurement Officer in July, having most recently
served as Chief Procurement Officer at Coty, Inc.
Cheryl Morano was appointed President of Agilex Fragrances.
She hails from parent company Firmenich. Former Agilex Fragrances
President Mathias Hemberger will take a new leadership assignment
at Firmenich.
IFF named Shoji Kumasaka Master Perfumer. Kumasaka joined IFF
in 1971 and apprenticed with Ernest Shiftan before returning to
Japan to focus on fragrances in hair care and personal washes.
Evonik Corp.’s CFO Bonnie Tully has been promoted to President.
Tully, who will be in charge of Evonik’s North America region, replaces
John Rolando who has retired after 33 years with the company.
Tully began her career at Rohm & Haas and joined Evonik Oil
Additives in 1998.
Additionally, Andreas Fischer
has been named Chief Innovation
Officer at Evonik. He
succeeds Ulrich Küsthardt, who
is retiring. Yann d’Hervé was appointed
Head of Evonik’s Care
Solutions Business Line. He formerly
served as Evonik’s VP of
Global Sales & Services, Health
