The American Cleaning Institute
(ACI) is launching a strategic partnership
with national nonprofits Good360 and
SBP that plans to enhance ACI member
company efforts to more efficiently and effectively
contribute to disaster relief efforts.
Building on the broader philanthropic
and community work ACI members have
been doing regularly for many years, the
partnership provides ACI members with
more opportunities for purposeful and
impactful giving, allowing members to maximize
the impact of their charitable giving
to communities affected by disasters. The
alliance will also provide training, resources
and tools to prepare for, and respond to,
natural disasters.
“Manufacturers throughout the cleaning
product supply chain are steadfast supporters
of our communities and those in need,” said
Melissa Hockstad, ACI President & CEO.
“We are excited about the opportunity
to expand and extend our disaster resiliency
and product philanthropy work and to
make that support more effective than ever.”
In Madison, SD, spray paint artist
Jeremy Fields recently painted a
trailer that the Madison Area Arts
Council purchased to transport its
sound equipment. The mural features
a white buffalo wearing headphones
and manipulating a sound mixer with
one hoof.
“I’ve been doing this style of art for
25 years,” the Rapid City, SD artist
said. He started working with aerosol
paint as a young teenager and painted
his first mural when he was 18, using
aerosol paint because he could work
on a large scale very quickly. Most
recently, he partnered with IllumiNative
and Natives Vote 2020 to do
murals across the South Dakota region
encouraging Native Americans to get out and vote.
“The white buffalo has come to represent Madison,” said Chris Francis, President
of the Madison Area Arts Council, who described Fields as an “incredibly skilled…
outstanding artist,” adding that he would like to see Fields do other murals in the
community.
