HVAC trainers learn how to teach
propane courses
The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) will
hold its next “Train the Trainer” event Sept. 27–28 in
Minneapolis, MN. During the two-day class, attendees
will learn how to teach PERC’s HVAC & Plumbing Technical
Training course and get hands-on experience with
a hydrometer and a regulator board. It includes five different
courses to present on the benefits of propane and
availability of propane applications for building professionals’
upcoming projects, both residential and commercial.
Marketers and State entities can leverage this group to
educate builders, architects, engineers and realtors on a
package of propane solutions for homes and buildings in
their communities. RSVP: propane.com/train-the-trainerfor

Carrier launches single-stage split ACs
Carrier has launched a new line of single-stage split system
air conditioners that are compliant with the U.S. Dept. of
Energy’s (DOE) 2023 minimum efficiency requirements
and test procedures. This will help Carrier fully transition
inventory in the South to be compliant by Jan. 1, 2023.
The new suite of single-stage split system air conditioners
for the Southern regions of the U.S. earns a SEER2 rating
of up to 16.5 (17 SEER), and EER2 up to 13.5 (14.5 EER).
Bell & Gossett updates online design tool
Bell & Gossett, a Xylem brand, recently integrated ESPThermal
into its ESP-Systemwize selection tool. Launched
in 2017, ESP-Systemwize gives HVAC and plumbing
system designers an integrated
tool to design an
efficient hydronic system
with all system components.
ESP-Thermal now
provides an online plate,
shell and tube heat exchanger
selection program
and additional capabilities.
System Designer,
introduced earlier this year, provides supporting documentation
and details to help quote jobs quickly and easily.
“Adding ESP Thermal as part of Systemwize allows
contractors and engineers to work in one program to optimize
the system design and reduce overall cost,” said Jim
Klimek, Heat Exchanger Global Product Manager, Xylem
Inc. “...These features allow engineers to easily select the
most suitable heat exchanger and optimize their system
based on project goals and requirements, ultimately increasing
efficiency and productivity.” Visit esp-systemwize.

Siemens thermostat equipped with CO2 sensor
Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s RDG200 thermostat series
allows indoor air quality to be monitored and adjusted to
ensure a healthy and productive indoor
air climate at all times for people in
the building, while maintaining efficient
operation. When the air quality
deteriorates because the CO2 concentration
rises, the ventilation system is
automatically adjusted and ensures that
the right amount of fresh air is provided
to the space. The system thermostat can
be natively integrated into Synco and
Desigo systems from Siemens or into
third-party systems thanks to its open KNX communication
capability. With its new CO2 features, RDG200 not
only ensures adequate ventilation when space occupancy
is high, but also ramps ventilation down when CO2 concentration
is low, thereby supporting energy-saving strategies
in the room. Visit https://new.siemens.com/sg/en/
