Precision Global has started a major construction project to expand and
upgrade its Thailand factory. The project will optimize workshop layouts,
increase production capacity for valve and injection molding parts and
expand warehouse storage space. The expansion will add 2,350 square
meters to the existing facility. Majority shareholder Oncap helped fund the
expansion. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.
Tri-Pac Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its new $8 million,
65,000 sq ft facility on July 24. Tri-Pac relocated to South Bend, IN
from Vandalia, MI due to tax breaks, according to Inside Indiana Business.
Tri-Pac has committed to creating up to 70 new jobs by the end
of 2020. The company had already been operational in South Bend
prior to the grand opening celebration.
The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) has revamped its “Exploration
Clean” portal to help middle-schoolers learn the science and
chemistry behind cleaning. New features include the interactive and
educational surfactant game Get the Dirt, an updated Science of Soap
e-book and new ingredient characters. The games can be visited at
explorationclean.org.
The B’laster Corp. has issued a call for its second annual automotive
B’laster Instructor of the Year. In partnership with Tomorrow’s
Technician magazine, B’laster will recognize exceptional automotive

Cosmetic Chemists’ (SCC) 73rd Annual Scientific Meeting & Technology
Showcase. It will be held Dec. 17–18, 2019 at the Sheraton
New York Times Square. Presentations will be on topics such as formulation,
sustainability, regulatory, safety, and/or claims for CBD in
cosmetics and skin care, advanced hair science, skin care and beyond,
color cosmetic innovations, skin microbiome and green/sustainable

Fiber-Shield Industries Inc. has launched two new treatment products
for manufacturers. Suedecryl is a super-hydrophobic leather and
suede stain and water repellent for porous materials such as footwear,
apparel and furniture. It offers long-lasting stain protection, dries in
minutes, provides UV and abrasion resistance and color protection
and maintains the “hand” and look of leather. Suedecryl is sold in
1-, 5-, 30-, and 55-gallon containers and can be applied via a standard
pump sprayer. For the protection for sisal carpets and rugs, Fiber-
Shield launched the super-hydrophobic treatment Karpetcrylâsisal
Stain Repellent, which is engineered to bond with each strand of
sisal fiber to combat common stains such as wine, coffee, pet accidents
and more. Karpetcrylâsisal is available in 5-, 30-, and 55-gallon
containers and can be deployed in an aerosol, BOV or pump package.
Both treatments contain no PFOs, PFOAs, PFAS or PBDEs.
Henkel has expanded its West Hazleton, PA’s production line for Dial
body wash and liquid hand soap. The $19 million expansion will help
enable future growth of the business and add 14 new jobs. Pictured are

Lubrizol Corp. has merged its personal, home and health care
divisions into the new Lubrizol Life Science division. According to
the company, the reorganization will enhance Lubrizol’s offerings to
customers through its expertise in chemistry, applications and market
insights in the beauty, health, home and wellness markets. The company
also plans to invest in acquisitions, opportunities and synergies
for its new division.
