Industry News September 2016 Spray 47 L’Oréal inaugurated its new Research & Innovation Center to study African hair and skin specificities, as well as the beauty routines and expectations of sub- Saharan consumers. The Research & Innovation Center in South Africa is the Group’s seventh R&I hub globally. ASM Aerosol-Service AG successfully passed a Pre-Approval-Inspection by the Korean authorities Ministry of Food & Drug Safety (MFDS). Additionally, last year, it passed an inspection by the U.S. Health Authorities U.S. Food & Drug Administration. The inspections confirmed that all processes in ASM comply with the principles and guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practice. All the requirements to produce products on this level complied with both inspections. Mary Kay Inc. will build its new $100 million manufacturing and research and development facility on a 26.2-acre site in Lewisville, TX. In June, the Executive Committees of the Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association of South Africa (AMA) and the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) agreed to enter into an agreement. BAMA executives visited South Africa in September, when the final sign-off on the agreement and full explanation of the intent and benefits to all members was presented. Roelof van Driel is a keynote speaker at British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) annual Forum. The event is Oct. 19-20 at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield, UK. He is a design and development director at the Dutch-based agency VanBerlo and will present a talk on Aerosol Design & Semiotics—how semiotics in aerosol design creates the optimal user experience. VariBlend announced the expansion of its global sales network of distributors and independent sales representatives into India, Israel, Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg. Additionally, the company has added state-of-the-art HUTT automatic fill- and final assembly equipment for its 20mm MiniMix. The headquarters for CPL Aromas UK sales division has moved to Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, UK. The new creative center features the latest in product performance testing facilities including purpose built assessment areas such as smelling booths, hair salons, van Driel laundry room and evaluation suites.
