She noted the California Legislature is becoming more involved in regulatory issues both with CARB and South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), i.e. SB 1387. If passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Brown, SB 1387 will expand the SCAQMD L to R: Frank Facey, Assured Packaging; Hector De La Torre, CARB Member; and Charlie Ortmann, Diversified CPC Intl. Not pictured: Kristin Power, CSPA Governing Board to 16 by adding three members representing the environmental justice community as clean air advocates in one or more communities within the South Coast Air Basin. These additional members could significantly impact future decision-making by the Board. CSPA and industry allies are communicating with legislators and the Governor’s Office, noting industry opposition to the measure.
