Deodorants/Antiperspirants and Shaving Gels were the only Personal Care categories to increase production in 2014, rising 13.5% to 73.4 million and 10.5% to 2.2 million, respectively. Hair Mousse and Hairsprays both saw significant declines. Among Household products, only Oven Cleaners fared well in 2014, growing 25.3% to 1.1 million. Furniture Waxes/Polishes dropped nearly 2 million (13.4%), while Shoe/Leather care products decreased 24.1% to 2.4 million. Seventy-five percent (202.8 million) of all aerosol products were in tinplate steel cans, a gain of 10.4% over 2013, while the remaining 25% (73.0 million) were in aluminum, a decrease of 6.5%. The vast majority (272.1 million or 98.6%) of products used 1" valves, a 5.8% jump over last year. While the small minority of products with 20mm valves became smaller yet in 2014, with just 3.7 million units, down 18.7%. Despite losing some ground in 2014, the Personal Care and Household segments still make up the bulk of Spanish aerosol fillings, at 118.9 million (43.1% of total production) and 92.5 million (33.5%), respectively.
