Tony Brealey, Managing
Director and Co-Owner of
Reabrook Ltd., has been
named Chairman of The
British Aerosol Manufacturers’
Association (BAMA).
Sebastian Alvarez of
Unilever has stepped down
after serving for two years as
Chairman. Brealey previously
served as BAMA’s Vice Chairman and Chair of the Commercial
& Planning Committee. James Smith of Summit Packaging Systems
will assume the role of Vice Chairman.
Arianna Chang has been named Head of Sales
for Lindal de Mexico (LDM) focusing on the
Mexican and Central American markets. Prior to
joining Lindal, Chang worked in sales at Precision
Valve Mexico and oversaw sales strategies
for Mexico, Central America, Venezuela and the
Caribbean.
The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) named
Merla Zollinger as Senior Director, Convention

where she most recently as
Senior Manager, Convention
Services.
Melissa Grande has been
promoted to Director, Sustainability.
Since joining ACI in
2012, Grande has worked on
ACI’s Sustainability Metrics Program, Charter for
Sustainable Cleaning and other initiatives.
Shawnté Furbush-Jones has been promoted
to Senior Program Coordinator and previously
served under ACI’s education, outreach, membership
and meetings functions.
Coty Inc. announced the resignation of Patrice
de Talhouët, Executive VP & Global CFO,
effective mid-September 2018. After Sept. 15,
Talhouët is assisting with transition of interim CFO Ayesha Zafar,
whose usual role is Senior VP & Group Controller of Coty Inc. Talhouët
recently assisted with Coty’s integration of the P&G Specialty
Beauty Business.
José Vicente Marino has been appointed as Executive VP & GM,
Brazil at Avon Products, Inc. starting Sept. 17. Marino will be
responsible for accelerating growth in Brazil, Avon’s largest area of
business. He previously held executive positions at Natura & Co. and
Flora Cosméticos e Limpeza. Prior, Marino served with Johnson &
Johnson and BestFoods.
Additionally, Avon Products announced that Amy Greene has
been appointed VP, Investor Relations, effective Aug. 13. Green previously
led investor relations and corporate engagement at Herbalife
Ltd. and GNC Holdings Inc. following a 10-year career publishing
investment research on consumer products companies.
OBITUARY
John Creighton Armstrong, 91, passed away
on Aug. 28 at his home in Friendship, ME.
He was born on April 12, 1927 and attended
the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. A pioneer
in the aerosol industry, Armstrong early
on built a production line. The first product
was Spray Solvo, which was the beginning of
Armstrong Laboratories in the family mill in
West Roxbury, MA. He and his brother Bob
grew the business for 10 years and sold the
company in 1967. They both went to work for
Aerosol Techniques, Inc. where Armstrong was National Sales
Manager.
In 1973, Armstrong started Pharmasol Corp. and was instrumental
Armstrong
in developing several inventions which led to a dozen or
more patents including the Demand valve which was used for
helping asthmatic patients with dosing inhalers. He was predeceased
by his wife Barbara Pickering Armstrong and is survived by
five children and ten grandchildren.
Charkit Chemical Co. has appointed Christopher
Klumph to operate the recently acquired
ChayseChem business and will focus on growing
in the agrochemical and pharmaceutical markets.
He most recently served as VP of Business Development
at ChayseChem. Klumph has also held
positions at Novasep, Troy Corp., ISP, FMC
Corp. and SNPE North America.
Dr. Wei Hong Yu has been named Technical
Sales Manager of Personal Care at BRB North
America. She will also a member of BRB Personal Care Technical
Network team. Yu has had previous roles at L’Oréal, Johnson &
Johnson and Revlon.
MONAT has hired Alan Meyers as Chief Science Officer. Meyers
brings more than 30 years as a beauty and personal care industry
executive at companies such as Avon, Elizabeth Arden, L’Oréal and
Revlon. Meyers has been recognized with the HBA Lifetime Achievement
Award and has 23 patents in the beauty industry. Meyers will be
located at MONAT’s corporate headquarters in Miami, FL.
Asha Ramesh has been promoted to the position of CEO for Sabinsa
USA. She will also join the company’s Board of Directors. Ramesh
has been with the Sami-Sabinsa Group for over two decades, most
recently as Sabinsa’s VP of Business Development. She joined the
Group 24 years ago as Manager of Purchasing & Special Projects
at Sabinsa’s parent company, Sami Labs Ltd. in Bangalore, India.
She moved to the Sabinsa staff in January 2000, focusing primarily
on sales and business development with involvement in a range of
departments of the organization
Additionally, Lugang (Rocky) Bai has joined the company as R&D
and QA manager at Sabinsa’s manufacturing facility in Payson, UT.
Manisha Moharir, who brings over 12 years of business sales and customer
service experience to the company, has joined Sabinsa as sales
manager for Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada.
Sabinsa also welcomed Liz Smith as Marketing Director. She has
previous experience with William Reed Business Media, NPIcenter,
New Hope Natural Media, TSI USA Inc. and Montana Naturals.
