Industry News Kao Corp. announced a license agreement for several foam type hair color (hair dye) patents in its patent portfolio with The Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G). Kao and P&G have been discussing for the past three years the relationship of Kao’s patent rights (U.S. 8,153,108 and its related foreign patents) in relation to P&G’s Foam Type Hair Color Product Nice’n Easy. As a result, Kao agreed to grant P&G a royalty-bearing license. Based on this license arrangement, P&G has agreed to withdraw its oppositions to Kao’s related EP patents. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is presenting CPSC From A-Z… And Beyond, to be held on Oct. 26 at The Hilton Garden Inn, Bethesda, MD. The full-day workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the regulations administered by the CPSC and with an opportunity to meet commissioners and staff. M&H Winchester announced that it has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management systems. The accreditation, registered by Intertek, applies to all aspects of M&H’s operations in the U.S. including its design and manufacturing facilities operating in a multitude of market sectors. Alban Muller introduced its new logo, designed as a symbol for skincare formulation and plant extracts for the beauty, health and well-being industries. Symrise has opened a new laboratory and office at 505 Park Ave. in Manhattan. The New York City studio houses perfumers, the sales group and a laboratory that features two computerized Modula Sintes 1.7 chemical component storage units with 40,000 ingredient bottles. The space was designed by architect Montroy Andersen DeMarco. Additionally, Symrise launched a new website, vanilla.symrise.com. Eurofragance South East Asia PTE LTD is changing its name to Eurofragance Asia Pacífic PTE LTD. The new name reflects the company’s aspirations for the region and the importance Asia will play in the future of the company. Additionally, Eurofragance opened its fourth Creative Center in Singapore. The firm has invested €2 million ($2.5 million) in the center. TRI-K Industries announced the launch of a completely redesigned website. The new site is designed to enhance user interaction with a new layout that provides language options, improved navigation performance, global contact information, multiple enhanced search functions, quick and easy access to product information and real time information updates on events, company news and product launches.
