Dear friends of the aerosol world,   As President of the Latin American Aerosol Federation (FLADA), it is an honor for me to welcome you to the World Aerosol Congress and the 8th Latin American Aerosol Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina, October 7–9 2014 at Centro Costa Salguero. We believe that the World Aerosol Congress is the right framework for all the world aerosol representatives to meet and take steps to achieve their goals. There are no remaining market frontiers in the 21st century, and globalization has become a reality that obliges us to go beyond the limits we Angel Rasgido have set for urselves. Experts from all over the world will speak about the key points that will define the future of the aerosol industry: Markets & Trends, Hi-Tech, Innovation, Safety, the Environment and Sustainability. Latin America has become one of the biggest aerosol producers worldwide, with 2.2 billion units in 2013. It is the region with the highest growth during the last six years, about 60%. It is a region that is self sufficient in supply and has been transformed in recent years into one of the largest export centers of finished consumer goods. The global presence of Latin American aerosols is the result of a whole value chain of natural resources, important technological investment, well trained human resources and a long history in aerosol production. However, the most important reason is compliance to the rules, regulations and quality standards the market demands. The globalization of our market led us to convene a World Aerosol Congress, together with the 8th Latin American Aerosol Congress. We are convinced that the time to work and coordinate efforts in order to achieve integrated global standards has arrived. The market trends of the 21st century have no boundaries and globalization has become a new reality that is forcing us to exceed the limits that we have created. When we defined the theme of the Congress, we wanted something to reflect the aerosol industry in the present and its outlook over time. We decided on “Aerosols: Towards sustainability and a harmonized future.” In a globalized world, where an aerosol can be consumed on a different continent than it was manufactured, it is important to work with harmonized standards and regulations that allow us to offer a reliable global product.   Friends of the aerosol world, Latin America welcomes you to Buenos Aires and the World Aerosol Congress, a 2.2 billion unit aerosol market!   Angel Rasgido FLADA President
