People in the News November 2016 Spray 39 Precision Global announced three key appointments in its sales organization: Matthias Welp was hired as Director Global Account Management and is based on Germany, tasked with supporting the global sales teams as the liaison to international consumer packaged goods. Prior to that he worked at Carl Edelman and The L’Oréal Group. Abe Baksh was hired as Bag-On-Valve (BOV) Sales Manager, North America. He previously worked for CCL, EP Spray System and Lindal. Pascal Delettang joined the company as Pump Sales Manager, North America, having previously worked for Calmar’s European and USA operations, Emsar and HK Blossom International. The American Coatings Association (ACA) announced the promotion of Heidi McAuliffe, Senior Counsel, to the role of VP of ACA’s Government Affairs division. She will direct the government affairs activities of the association, including advocacy on behalf of the paint and coating industry in the U.S. During her 24-year long career with ACA, McAuliffe has worked extensively with varied regulatory bodies, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, California Air Resources Board, the Ozone Transport Commission, many state environmental agencies and Environment Canada, while negotiating regulations affecting the coatings industry. She is primary staff attorney for ACA’s committees germane to consumer products and transport issues. She also serves as executive director for the Graffiti Resource Council and directs ACA’s political action committee, PaintPAC. Additionally, David Darling, Managing Director, Health, Safety & Environment was promoted to VP ACA’s Health, Safety & Environmental Affairs division. Berry Plastics Group, Inc. announced that Thomas Salmon has been elected as Berry’s President & COO, effective Oct. 3. Salmon will be responsible for the company’s operating businesses, operations, supply chain and procurement. Salmon previously served as President of the company’s Consumer Packaging Division.
