The French Aerosol Committee (CFA), now in its 46th year, will hold
a “Getting to Know Aerosols” training course on June 18–20. The
course will focus on, among other topics, metal containers (tinplate
steel and aluminum), valves and actuators, compressed gases, container/
content compatibility, propellants, formulation, packaging and
manufacturing controls, aerosol dispenser regulations and labeling,
plastic aerosol dispensers, transport of “Dangerous Substances,”
metered dose aerosols, bag-on-valve technology and recycling. To register:

SC Johnson (SCJ) is planning to use geothermal energy to power its
Racine, WI headquarters, a move that will reduce the company’s environmental
footprint, according to SCJ. The company plans to install

Aptar Pharma’s Bidose nasal drug delivery
device has been approved by U.S. Food
& Drug Administration (FDA) for use in
treating depression. The Bidose liquid system
gives local or systemic delivery of drugs
using a precise spray through a two-shot nasal
drug delivery system. The device can also
integrate wireless connectivity technologies.
Bidose is manufactured at Aptar Pharma’s
SCJ Campus in Racine, WI.
a GeoExchange system at its iconic Frank Lloyd Wright-designed
campus to provide sustainable heating and cooling throughout the
facilities, using the constant temperature of the Earth. The project—
which is pending city and state approvals—is expected to reduce
energy usage by an estimated 42%. Combined with other sustainable
projects, the facility will save another 15–20% in energy usage,
resulting in a total facility-wide reduction of 57–62% of the current
energy load.
Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. has rolled out a newly redesigned
website. Upgrades include a new “Shop by Solution” feature where
consumers receive customized solutions based on their specific needs
such as anti-frizz, repair and color protection. The customized product
recommendations allow consumers to quickly and confidently
find what they need. The new site also features a one-stop portal
for all brand offers and deals to make shopping easier and more
streamlined for consumers. The next phase of the brand’s digital
transformation plan will revolve around the launch of a new Sally
Beauty app.
Crodarom has launched the first phase of a €4.65 million ($5.24
million), two-year expansion of its Chanac production site in Lozère,
France. The project involves the expansion of the storage warehouse
and laboratories and construction of a new administrative building,
adding approximately 100 employees and 2,200 square meters. A
second €2 million ($2.25 million) project is slated to start in 2021 to
expand and redesign the production area. Crodarom is committed
through its Corporate Societal Responsibility program to improve
work spaces, utilize ecological materials, promote low energy consumption
equipment and facilities and support the local economy.
Endo International plc’s Par Pharmaceutical has begun shipments
of an authorized generic version of Merck’s Proventil HFA Inhalation
Aerosol, 120mcg, following the creation of a U.S. supply and
distribution agreement between Endo Procurement Operations Ltd.
and a subsidiary of Merck. Proventil consists of albuterol sulfate.
