latest corporate updates and product innovations.
Upgrades & expansions…
Airosol Co., Neodesha, KS, announced that it is near
completion of its $5 million expansion program in several
different areas of the company. This includes a new
production facility that will house two new aerosol lines.
Following will be the expansion of warehousing and a
new blending and mixing facility. This is all part of a plan
to triple the production capacity and improve efficiency
of operations, Airosol said.
Airosol has also expanded its R&D program to offer
many new products, including brake cleaners, professional
grade cleaners, carpet cleaners and an odor eliminator
product. The company explained it is also developing new
custom marketing programs tailored to fit the needs of
individual customers. This includes warehousing, direct
shipping, formulation research and package design. The
goal is to deliver a total package of support to make selling
aerosols as easy as possible.
220 Laboratories, Riverside, CA, announced it has
three new, nearly fully-automated aerosol filling lines,
three new gas houses and two new propellant tanks. It is
also constructing a new 26,000 sq. ft. H-3 facility on its
property.
Aerosol and liquid filler Lighthouse for the Blind-
Saint Louis (LHB), St. Louis, MO—a not-for-profit
manufacturing and packaging organization—reported that
it achieved its best financial results since 2012 in 2019.
The charitable business, also known as LHB Industries,
Inc., ended 2019 with total revenue of approximately
$27 million, an increase of 8.7% percent over 2018
year-end results.
LHB also secured 20 new products for its liquid filling
business and hired four new employees in 2019. LHB
currently employs 53 people who are legally blind and expects
to hire additional blind and legally blind personnel
to help support the new business.
Aerosol Resource Innovations (ARI), Orchard Hill,
GA, reported it now offers filling of Honeywell Solstice
(1234ZE) propellant and has recently installed a new
MBC aerosol line.
McBride Caribbean Ltd., Lowlands, Christ Church,
Barbados, installed and commissioned a new Terco Inc.
double lane, double indexing premix filler last September.
Empack Spraytech, Inc., Brampton, ON, Canada,
has launched and expanded its personal care business to
include new products and formulations in the areas of
shampoos, conditioners, lotions and body washes in both
bag-on-valve (BOV) and traditional aerosol formats.
Formulated Solutions sees expansion
Scott Carpenter, VP of Marketing & Partner Innovation,
Formulated Solutions, Largo, FL, reported that
the company recently acquired a new 100,000 sq ft GMP
warehouse facility. When fully qualified, the site will be
used for inbound raw materials /component inspection
and staging for commercial production.
The filler also completed a new 10,000 sq ft Innovation
& Development (I&D) lab space that represents a fourfold
growth in footprint and a three-fold increase in laboratory
bench space. The new footprint features “Partner
Innovation Suites” and dedicated lab spaces that allow
Tri-Pac Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its new $8 million,
65,000 sq ft facility on July 24. Tri-Pac relocated to South Bend,
IN from Vandalia, MI and has committed to creating up to 70
new jobs by the end of 2020. The company had already been operational
in South Bend prior to the grand opening celebration.
