The National Aerosol Association will hold Aerosol Summit 2020 in
Nashville, TN from March 29–31, 2020. The conference, titled “Common
Ground: Vision 2020,” will be held at the Sheraton Grand

Ball Corp. revealed its five most sustainable manufacturing plants of
2018. They include an aerosol plant in Devizes, UK, which reduced
recordable incidents by 15%, decreased gas use by 5%, reduced water

The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) has revamped its
website, CleaningInstitute.org, with a new look and enhanced user
experience for members, stakeholders and members of the public
searching for fact-based information on cleaning. New features
include a new “Ask ACI” section, a filtered search to access advice
and archives dating back to 1962, interactive elements such
as a stain removal guide, laundry basics tutorial and new content
recommendations.

In other news, Ball Corp. has created two virtual power purchase
agreements (VPPAs)—one wind and one solar in Oklahoma and
Texas—for 388 megawatts (MW) of new renewable energy. These
agreements will allow the company to use 100% renewable energy in
its North American corporate, packaging and aerospace operations
by the end of 2021.
An aerosol production line has been added to Precise Packaging’s
120,000 sq ft Fall River, MA facility. The new production line
expands the company’s plant capabilities and capacity. Terms of the
investment were not disclosed.
Kao Corp. has announced a new global ESG (Environmental, Social
& Governance) strategy called the “Kirei Lifestyle Plan” with 19
earth-friendly and sustainable actions the company will deliver by
2030. These actions include allowing consumers to make small but
meaningful choices for a more resilient and compassionate society
through all Kao brands and making 100% of Kao products sustainable
throughout their life cycles. The Kirei Lifestyle Plan is based
on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, said Dave
Muenz, Kao’s ESG Executive Officer. Kao’s brands include Bioré,
Goldwell, Jergens, John Frieda and Molton Brown.
Clarins has unveiled Le Domaine Clarins, a 200,000-acre private
farm and open lab in the Alps, to sustainably source, grow and observe
plant ingredients. The unique microclimate creates optimal
growing conditions for vegetation, Clarins said. A section called
the Collection Garden is dedicated to new plant experimentation
and information will be added Clarins’ Herbarium. Clarins’
long-term ambition is to have 100% field-to jar-production from
its own farms.
