perfumery training at Roure in Grasse, France
and has served as a perfumer with Givaudan for
nearly 35 years.
Dr. Ken Marenus has been appointed President of the Independent
Cosmetic Manufacturers & Distributors (ICMAD). He has held
senior leadership positions at Estée Lauder and Mary Kay and
served on the faculties of Long Island University, University of Texas
at Dallas, State University of NY Stony Brook and C.W. Post College.
Marenus is the author of 10 patents and technical articles on skin
care. He has held previous leadership positions in the Dermal Clinical
Evaluation Society and Society of Cosmetic Chemists and served
on committees for the Personal Care Products Council, Cosmetics
Alliance Canada, Cosmetic Europe and International Cooperation
for Cosmetics Regulations. Marenus is currently on the Board of
Directors of the UCLA Life Sciences College.
OLIKA has hired Alastair Dorward as CEO. Dorward was the
founding CEO of Method Products. OLIKA Co-Founder Jessica
Postiglione will continue to serve as COO.
Scott Walters has joined Charkit Chemical Co. as Senior Business
Development Manager. He hails from Harcros Chemicals, where he
served as an Industry Specialist in the household, I&I, vehicle care,
pet care and oilfield markets. He also previously held an R&D role at
Cargill Industrial Bio Products.

Effective July 1, Megan Grant will be President, Luxe division,
at L’Oréal USA. Grant joined L’Oréal in 2002 as a Marketing
Manager for L’Oréal Paris. Since then she has held management
positions in the Luxe Division, as well as Kiehl’s Since 1851 and
The Body Shop.

currently the Global Deputy GM of Ralph Lauren Fragrances.

Dr. Bernd Metzner became CFO of Gerresheimer
AG on May 15. Previously, the company announced
he would take over the role on July
1. Metzner hails from Ströer SE & Co. KGaA
where he has served as CFO since 2014. He has
also held positions with the Bayer Group and
Döhler Group. Metzner is now a member of Gerresheimer’s
Management Board.
On July 1, Kraft Heinz tapped Miguel Patricio
as new CEO. Former CEO Bernardo Hees, who
helmed the company after the Kraft and Heinz
merger in 2015 and had been CEO of Heinz since
2013, left the company on June 30. Patricio hails
from Anheuser-Busch, where he held roles such
as Global Chief Marketing Officer, President of
the Asia Pacific unit and President of the North
America team.
TricorBraun has appointed Brett Hecker as Chief
Information Officer and he will join the company’s
Executive Leadership Team. He succeeds Doug
Bolen, who will stay at the company through Sept.
1 to help Hecker transition. Hecker joins Tricor-
Braun from Honeywell International, where he
served as VP & Chief Information Officer, Commercial
& Customer Enablement. Hecker began
his career at Price Waterhouse LLP.
Calice Becker, Givaudan’s VP Perfumer & Director of the Givaudan
Perfumery School, received the prestigious French médaille
de Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres in May. This

We have made a lot of progress but there is still more to do.
Washington State
In May, the State of Washington passed legislation on the use of
hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). The restrictions are the same as the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) original Significant New
Alternative Policy (SNAP) rule. This means that the restrictions on
aerosol products are the same as the SNAP rule before the rule was
vacated.
The effective date is Jan. 1, 2020. More information to come.
EPA SNAP Rule Rewrite
According to conversations with the EPA, the new SNAP rule is moving
slowly through the EPA process. There will be more information
to come on this, also. Spray
