Industry News July 2016 Spray 45 The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) Awards entry form is available to download from the BAMA website and is open to all BAMA members at: www.bama. co.uk/forum. The Awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Oct.19, 2016 and will be held at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield, UK. Award categories including: New Aerosol of the Year; Process Safety and Training Sustainability and Aerosol Packaging. There will also be a Lifetime Achievement Award nominated by the BAMA Executive Board. AkzoNobel has completed phase one of the €2.5 million ($2.8 million) expansion of its performance coatings plant in Cikarang, Indonesia. Additionally, the company inaugurated its new €6.5 million ($7.2 million) technology center in Songjiang, Shanghai. The company’s largest research facility in China, it will support product innovation and the development of next-generation paints, coatings and specialty chemicals.The center currently employs 150 scientists, which is expected to rise to 200 by 2020. Ashland Inc. issued a new thirdedition update to its Performance Specialties Reference Guide. The guide covers Ashland industrial specialty products worldwide used in various applications. The reference guide provides detailed descriptions of chemistry types, chemical characterizations, functionality, physical properties, performance characteristics, applications and benefits. It also provides a complete list of generic chemical names for Ashland’s trademarked brand name products. International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. released its first-ever Cradle to Cradle Certified fragrance, PuraVita. The fragrance, which has notes of green apple, wood, apricot and vanilla, is a proof of concept for an innovative approach to sustainable fragrance creation. Gattefossé Group announced its new affiliate, Gattefossé Mediterranean, located in the Berges du Lac II business district, near Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. Tectorius, fastener coating and assembly needs company, launched an enhanced website at tectorius.com. The updated version includes the ability to review information about its company and products in the English, German, Italian, Spanish, Turkish and Chinese languages.
