They take seriously the overall health and safety benefits of their products and continuously seek to improve them. CARB consists of 14 members located across the state of California that contribute her/his expertise and talent to CARB programs. The CSPA/NAA/WAIB coalition kicked off its CARB member visits with a trip to the Sacramento–San Francisco area May 24–26, 2016. The first visit included meetings with: • Supervisor John Gioia, El Cerrito, CA Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors • Dr. John Balmes, Berkeley, CA Center for Occupational & Environmental Health Regulation impacts the operations of the consumer products industry through regulatory implementation. The consumer products industry has long engaged in collaborative action to influence rulemaking by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The industry is proactively working to engage with regulatory leadership prior to any future regulations by taking action to continue to build a relationship with CARB. The Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA), National Aerosol Association (NAA) and the Western Aerosol Information Bureau (WAIB), with a common purpose of affecting change at CARB, is meeting with CARB members and staff to provide information about what the consumer products industry does and its positive impact on everyday lives. The organizations’ goal is three-fold: education, communication and care, as they believe each is crucial in creating and nurturing a culture that fosters engagement. “Our commitment to our employees, ownership, and industry must be for long term sustainability,” said Roger Vanderlaan, President of WAIB. 26 Spray July 2016 “For that to happen, we must partner with the environmental regulatory community to help them achieve their mandates and provide our consumers with better living though efficacious and environmentally responsible products.” The CSPA/NAA/WAIB have set a goal to meet individually with every CARB member this year. They plan to demonstrate in a meaningful way their desire to produce effective consumer products that enhance lives. The con-
