Packaging innovations
Tubex & Neuman Aluminum
Tubex and slug supplier Neuman Aluminum have partnered to develop a
lightweight post consumer recycled (PCR) slug, the Neucan 3.1, for aluminum
aerosol cans. The lightweighting was achieved by reducing the can’s wall thickness
and modifying the shoulder shape, resulting in a weight savings of nearly 20%
compared to the standard aluminum 99.5 can. The new can also allows 15% more
room on pallets and shelves. To prevent denting during transit, Tubex has invested
in layer-wide packaging for shipping as well.
Toly Products
Toly Products announced that it is committed to
using recycled or recyclable materials and promoting
the use of renewable materials or materials that have

has launched a line of dip tube bottles made from
100% Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) PET. Suitable
for skin care formulations, the tubes are available in
75-, 50-, 30- and 15mL sizes and can be decorated to
specification.
