bedroom for not-quite dirty clothes—that nearly half the population

Day2 allows users to refresh garments in-between washes, with every
container helping to save 60 liters of water (a full wash load), conserving
time, money, water and energy, according to parent company Unilever.
Clothes can be laid out on a flat surface, lightly sprayed, smoothed and
hung. Within 15 minutes the garment will be softer, smell fresher and
appear as though freshly ironed. Day2 also saves time and money on a
trip to the dry cleaners for delicates. It helps gym patrons who want to
give their gear a quick refresh or frequent travelers with suitcase-creased
clothing.
Day2 is available in a 200mL original version, suitable for most fabric
types and designed to be stored in the bedroom. The 75mL travel size is
designed for weekend mini-breaks or gym bag. A Denim variant protects
jean fibers from wear and tear and helps slow the fading process, while a
Delicates spray removes the build-up of clothing smells without causing
any damage to fine fabrics, knits, embellished clothing and cashmeres.
Each container has an anti-odor technology that lifts malodors and
leaves outfits with a light and airy fresh linen smell. Day2 comes in
plastic spray packaging from Airopack.

The highly competitive nature of the Janitorial
& Sanitation (Jan/San) cleaning market
has caused cleaning product suppliers to look
deeper into end-user preferences and usage
patterns to identify pockets of growth. Such
insights help their business thrive in the $4.4
billion Jan/San cleaning market, according to
Kline’s 2017 edition of Janitorial & Housekeeping
Cleaning Products: U.S. Market Analysis
& Opportunities, a report based on surveys of
more than 1,000 end users.
About half of the respondents reported the
usage of liquid and foam hand soaps. Foam
continues to be adopted due to its “less mess”
popularity among users. Aerosol odor-control
products, foam hand soaps and instant hand
sanitizers show the fastest growth rates since
2014.
Health care facilities and nursing homes are
the fastest growing end users due to an aging
population and increased frequency of cleaning
in hospitals, as they seek to discharge patients
sooner.
Hard-surface, hand-care and floor-care products
are the largest product categories, together
accounting for over 85% of the total market
value. Spending on floor care cleaning products
is decreasing as new construction implements
lower maintenance flooring surfaces, Kline said.
Consumption of janitorial and housekeeping
cleaning products is expected to reach $5
billion at the end user’s level in 2022. Lodging
establishments, fast food restaurants and industrial
facilities are expected to show the highest
growth rates over the following five years,
according to Kline’s report.
