For the
Love of
Lavender…
According to the Household & Commercial Products
Association (HCPA), there were 987,390,772 aerosol
Household Care products filled in the U.S. in 2017.
This includes Room Deodorants & Disinfectants
(more than 647.5 million), Cleaners (more than 197.5 million),
Laundry Products (more than 42.3 million), Waxes & Polishes
(almost 32 million) and Other (almost 53.4 million). This is a
10.25% increase over 2016.
The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) reminds consumers that
Household Care products are specially formulated with ingredients
designed for safe and effective use when the products are used as
directed.
“An incredible amount of research and development goes on
before these products ever hit the shelves,” said explained Brian
Sansoni, ACI VP of Communication.
Keep it clean, folks…
According to the ACI 2018 National Cleaning Survey, 76% of
households took part in the ritual of spring cleaning their homes
this year. Millennials (38%) reported deep cleaning their homes
more often than both Boomers (13%) and Gen Xers (28%), who
more frequently perform light cleanings.
According to the research, U.S. consumers of every age most
frequently deep clean their bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms and
bedrooms. Their collective primary reasons for spring cleaning
are to give their home and belongings the thorough cleaning they
need, reduce clutter, remove asthma or allergy triggers and prevent
the spread of illness.
Bathrooms, cited by 46% of respondents, top the list of rooms
that get deep cleaned most often. The area in homes that is
regularly cleaned most often is the toilet (88%). The tub came in
at 52%.
“Our survey indicates that while people
may despise cleaning the bathroom, it’s
a job that has to be done,” said Sansoni.
“We’d like to suggest thinking of it as taking
care of the space that takes care of you.”
One such product that will take care of
that space is Clorox Scentiva Bathroom
Foam Cleaner in an aerosol. It combines
powerful foam with an invigorating fragrance
that penetrates soap scum and eliminates
tough stains the first time around.
Available in Tuscan Lavender & Jasmine
and Pacific Breeze & Coconut, the products
kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria and come in a can from DS
Containers. Scentiva also comes in both scents as a Multi-Surface
Cleaner in a trigger pump.
