Picture this...
As you may have noticed, for the past several years SPRAY has been including
retro aerosol-related cartoons in each issue under the punny heading of Blast
from the Past. These are mined from back issues of Aerosol Age, SPRAY’s pre-1992
incarnation. We enjoy bringing these to you and hope you enjoy reading them.
We admit that, sometimes, the captions don’t make sense, but we chalk that up to
long-ago, mid-20th century humor just not jibing with our edgy, 21st century sensibilities.
Many times, we won’t include a cartoon because it doesn’t have a caption at all.
These hold-outs are kind of funny, in their abstract way, and I always regret having to
pass them by.
Then one day, as I was yelling at my TV set, I realized that interactive media is where
it’s at. Rather than file our caption-less cartoons under “G for garbage,” why don’t I
just write my own caption? Quickly realizing that I was voluntarily adding to my own
workload, I revised that thought—why don’t I let the readers write the captions?
So that’s what SPRAY is inviting you to do. This month, and in certain months
following, we invite readers to write the captions for Blast from the Past. The authors of
the three funniest captions, as judged by our esteemed staff, will be published in the
September issue. Here are the rules:

This issue includes SPRAY’s 2017-2018 Buyers Guide.
We have compiled everything you need for packaging a new spray product into this
handy resource guide, which lists a variety of special services, components and raw
materials. We are also featuring its companion piece, the 12th edition of Corporate
Profiles, which provides the latest information from the companies committed to providing
the most up-to-date products and services for our industry. The Buyers Guide is
also offered online and can be found in our digital version, as well. Visit www.spraytm.
com for more information.
If your company is not represented or under-represented, or even represented incorrectly
(!), please contact me directly at acaridad@spraytm.com. Each year, we strive for
accuracy and try to make the Buyers Guide more streamlined and efficient than the
year before. We can only do this with your help and participation, however.
Please review the Guide and determine if your company is properly represented; a
matter of clearing up a “faulty” email address is really all it takes to make sure accuracy
prevails.
