Commentary Pump it Up… is one of the most sought after in the Asian personal care market? This in-depth report makes fascinating reading, and it would be wonderful to receive pump reports from other regions of the world, as well, but SPRAY has yet to come across any of that research. If readers can help us out with suggestions, please let us know. And about those Fillers… Another group we’d like to hear from is aerosol filling facilities from the U.S. and around the world. Each March, we publish our annual Fillers Directory and not long afterward, we receive emails from fillers asking how they, too, can be included in the directory. Is it difficult to get in? Is it expensive? Inclusion is easy, free and all it takes is an email to yours truly to get your company included in SPRAY’s database. Once in there, your designated contact receives an email every January asking you to complete a brief questionnaire. It’s that simple. The Fillers Directory is no secret society, but a handy tool for readers to find an appropriate filler in an area convenient to them. The more fillers listed, the merrier, so please let’s hear from you. 6 Spray April 2017 Spray Technology & Marketing Cynthia Hundley Publisher chundley@spraytm.com Ava Caridad Editorial Director acaridad@spraytm.com Christen Harm Assistant Editor charm@spraytm.com Montfort A. This month, we feature a report on the 2016 Japanese pump market, sent to us by Aerosol Industry Newspaper Co., Ltd. Call me a packaging nerd, but this is one of my favorite reports that SPRAY receives and I always look forward to it. I love the different kinds of pumps and am intrigued to learn, for instance, that tourism drives the Japanese market for personal care products in pumps (they have fewer carry-on restrictions than aerosols) or that finger pumps have recently faced stiff competition from those cute mini-trigger pumps. Did you know that 3-cc pumps have seen a boost in production as the favored dispenser of Japanese “organic” personal care products or that the “Made-in-Japan” label Editorial Director
